A Cosmetic Guide To The ROI Quest Rewards

Here is a guide to help you decide which quest rewards to choose in the Rise of Isengard expansion if your basing your decision (like I did) on the cosmetic value. Some items will show up a lot while you quest through Dunland and the Gap of Rohan. Others may only show up once so you will need to grab them when you get the opportunity.

I have only listed quest rewards in this guide but you may also find some items with the same graphic on the Reputation vendors from Men of Dunland and the Rohirrim.

*There are a lot of similar looking legs in the Rise of Isengard quests rewards. They have subtle differences such as their belt buckle or their texture but overall I don’t see much difference. I decided to list just a few of them in this guide.

  1. Wow Devonna what a magnificent piece of work!! You must have put an enormous amount of time into this. This is a super nice reference for all players that still have characters to go through RoI so they can better judge where to pick up their cosmetics! Fantastic job. /hail

  2. Wow!!! Looks great and what a lot of work. Am a big fan of your style. Thanks for making lotro more interesting than it already is.

    • Is the “Charging Stag” chestpiece available from vendors? Don’t know how I could have missed such an awesome cosmetic piece while questing…

    • Oh and perhaps explain the difference in male/female appearance on the Rune-stitched shoes, Polished Hauberk and Dunland Sage Robe.
But let me emphasize you did an awesome job! No criticisms, only praise and some additional comments!

    • I agree with this – when I got to Galtrev I went to check the reputation vendors to see which items I will have access to whenever I want (after I’m done with the rep, that is) so I don’t have to stress about watching for them in quests, or throwing them out of my wardrobe or vault if I need the space.

This is an amazing guide and I wish I’d had it when I started going through the region!

  4. SO awesome! I was just saying the other day, would be great to know before I got to the quests. This is fantastic! Thank you so much. Now just need to make sure I have enough wardrobe space!

  5. Great job this looks like it took a lot of time and will be very useful! I still have a couple characters to go through RoI and i can pick up everything i haven’t got that i missed first and second time around <3

  8. Thank you so much for this quick reference sheet. One question. Did you at least provide one of each type of legging?

    • No, there are a lot of leggings. I did provide each of the unique looking skirts they added but as far as the leggings, to me there just seemed to be so many with subtle differences to one another. Would it be helpful to people if i added each of the different leggings?

      • You’ve got the major ones, so I might not bother if you don’t have the other rewards handy to compare, but it’d be nice to have it for completion.

It’s very nice as I’m on what I suspect will be my last playthrough of the ROI content for the near-future and its nice to fill in the holes in my cosmetic collection from the prior two characters where possible.

  13. What a wonderful guide. :D Very helpful indeed to know which items share the same visuals. :)

One thing I did notice though is that there now appear to be three different appearances for ‘Tattered Robe of the Dunland Sage, Robe of the Learned Stag, and Noble’s Woolen Robe’

There’s ‘belted, closed’ for ladies and female elves (the belt appears knotted like on your li’l Hobbit gal). ‘Open’ on men and male elves (which has a different front), and apparently belted open on Hobbit ladies. :)

  14. Going through ROI on my fourth character now, and aiming to collect everything this time, so this is a great list for reference.

You missed the “Burnished Dunleding Pauldrons” from the “Riders of the Storm” quest. It’s the same quest that gives the “Padded Gloves of the Dunland Soothsayer” item. The appearance matches the 7th (bottom left) shoulders in your guide.

  15. The boots of the Dunland Soothsayer look different on Elves and men then they do on Hobbits. I haven’t checked Dwarves yet. The top of the boot is folded over like the nightshade boots.

  18. Love that you have all this together. Thanks for doing so. I wish there was a cosmetic version of Polished Hauberk of the Dunland Shieldman i can rep buy or something for my alt.

  21. I love what you have done with this, but I am wondering about some of the robe items listed above. They show a one and two piece set rather than a robe like the dunland stag.
