2011 in Review

What a great year it’s been!

When I began LotroStylist this year I had zero expectations that my little blog would amount to anything other than being something that I enjoy doing.  I wasn’t expecting the incredible support I would receive from the Lotro community or all the amazing people I would meet along the way. According to WordPress.com’s annual report for this blog LotroStylist was viewed about 190,000 times in 2011! Thank you ALL so much for your constant support and encouragement this year. This blog wouldn’t be anything without YOU!  Here’s to an even more exciting and stylish 2012!! Cheers!

Goodbye (For Now)

The Lotro Stylist blog has been such a fun project for Kedwyr and myself. We have truly loved sharing our Lotro passion of creating outfits for our characters with all of you. By far the best part for both of us though has been meeting so many people from the Lotro community that we wouldn’t of had the opportunity to meet otherwise.

Maintaining a blog is a lot of hard work and no one should attempt it (or continue at it) if you don’t absolutely love what your doing. Lotro Stylist has become a bit of a chore for me to keep up lately. I’ve lost a lot of my original joy, it’s been replaced by this need to continually pump out quality blog posts even when I am not feeling inspired, and to be the first to report on a subject that so many other blogs now compete for. If it’s no longer fun then it is a job, a job that I’m not getting paid for. It just doesn’t make sense to continue at something that I’m no longer enjoying. I’m going to leave the blog up so that anyone can look at any of the old outfits Ked and I worked on. I just won’t be updating the site with anything new.

I want to thank all of you that faithfully visited my blog each day and encouraged me with your comments. You guys are awesome!

New Effort to Obtain Scale

Hey Guys :)
Here is the new Difficulty Scale I have been working on. I’d love to know what you think about it.

*****************************************

All outfits on this blog are rated on the effort required to obtain the looks. Outfits are rated 0 through 7 with 7 being the hardest to obtain. Difficulty levels 1-7 assume that you have access to a wardrobe.

Each outfit will have two ratings. The first rating (A) is based on the *single hardest* piece to acquire. The second rating (B) will be the average difficulty of the entire outfit. These two ratings will be displayed as A(B). For example, an outfit with a 5(2) rating would mean this outfit consisted of at least one 5 ring item but overall it consisted of items averaging a 2 ring rating.

This difficulty scale is only meant as a guide to help you as you are navigating this site. I encourage everyone to adapt my outfits to fit them personally. If you really like one of the outfits that is rated higher than you currently can obtain then please feel free to replace a piece to something you have on hand. Continue reading

The Outfits of Weatherstock 2011

Weatherstock was amazing this year! I really enjoyed this event. It was great seeing so many from the Lotro community gather in one location.

Weatherstock 2011
Weatherstock started off with a parade travelling from the Forsaken Inn to Weathertop. It was an amazing site seeing over 500 people travel together to the summit.
