I have always admired this cloak from the Lotro Store. I’ve tried it on in the dressing room with several outfit ideas but haven’t been able to find anything I was pleased with. Today I decided to build my outfit around this cloak, starting with it and then finding complementary pieces to go with it.
The Frostbluff Dress of Thanks I paired it with was a surprise reward for completing the Yule Festival quest Self-sacrifice: Support the Poor. 40 days after completing the quest you would receive a letter in the mail offering you another quest, the reward being the Frostbluff Robe and Dress of Thanks. Hopefully this dress will be offered again in future Yule Festivals because both the robe and dress are lovely.
Head: Extravagant Festival Cap, dyed Sienna (Yule Festival)
Shoulders: Tawarwaith Shoulder Pads, dyed Sea Blue (T6 Crafted)
Chest: Frostbluff Dress of Thanks, dyed Sea Blue (Special Yule Festival reward)
Back: Cloak of the Dragonfly, dyed Umber (Store)
Wow that combination looks very elegant indeed. Nice colours and very original way of using those shoulders! Well done!
i agree with hymne, this combination is astonishing! i love how shoulders tie the cloak, hat and dress together.
Yes that dress is lovely. I still have mine, and the robe. It looks good with this cloak. 🙂 The shoulder pads ‘shoulder’ bit looks nice with the dye showing up the leaf, but what’s with the bits going down her front? That looks a bit odd. Not your fault, obviously – there are some very weird designs for ‘shoulder’ guards in this game!
I actually didn’t like those quests very much. It all seemed very dickensian to me, and there was a lot that was unfair about it. First you pickpocket regular people just there to have fun and spend their money, then you had to be mean to poor people. Very christmassy. I DID do one course of the ‘help the rich’ side on just one char, because I really liked the extravagant dress and top hat, but everyone else did the poor deed.
I agree, I really didn’t like the quests in Winter-Home last year. I do like the cosmetic goodies that came out of it though.
Yes sometimes you just have to bite the bullet when it comes to getting cosmetics 😀 But I did like Winterhome a lot. Perhaps the quest objectives were not all that logical, but I really enjoyed the separate region and the atmosphere. Most of all the theater!
Yeah there were some nice costmetics. I just felt it unfair that I had to be a complete douchebag to get the pretty dress. It’s just not right to have you befriending people to deliberately betray them atfterwards. Not really in keeping with the spirit of the season.
There was, of course some great stuff there – the theatre was one, as were the snowball fights 🙂
I love that dress and hope to get it next Yule festival! Dragonflies have been a favorite of mine for a long time, and that cloak is simply beautiful.
For your readers: I’d like to point out that the Cloak of the Dragonfly was in the lottery more than once, so you may be able to find an unbound version in your AH.. I know I did!
oh wonderful! Thank you for the info.
