Stylishly Ornate ROI Version

I’ve been leveling Devonna in Dunland this week and decided she needed an updated outfit. Stylishly Ornate is still one of my cosmetic outfits on Devonna. I tried it on today and realized it needed to be updated since the Robe of Viisaus has been altered.

The graphic to the Robe of Viisaus has been changed with the new expansion. Cosmetic Lotro first reported the change while in beta. This makes me sad. The new version gives a truer dyed color (If you dye it umber it actually looks umber) but it looses everything that made it unique to begin with (it’s crazy way of being dyed). I am sure that with time I will grow used to the changes.

P.S. Completely off topic but what is up with how dark Dunland is? These pictures were taken during the day and I had to brighten them up big time in Photoshop. Anyone else notice this?

  1. To your P.S. I must state that it may be intentional, the darkening that is. It has been said in the books that “….the lands grow darker the closer we get to Mordor.” Even within the ever loved movies by P.J., we can see that the Shadow was ever reaching farther north. Lands that Frodo and Sam had gone through seemed dark even at mid day. Although I am not sure if the game devs were aware of this and decided to try it, it is a likely and exciting possibility.

  2. The new version of the robe also looks good, but there was no reason to replace the old version. I wish we could have had both 😦
On the forums it has been reported that many people with certain graphic cards have problems with their gamma settings since release. There are at least two topics running regarding the subject, maybe that is what is going on in your case? Dunland is indeed darker than Breeland because it’s overcast, but it’s the same as Eregion or Enedwaith for me.

  3. oh i love the colours! think we’re going to resist the lure of dunland (well the lure of new cosmetic stuff for me!) until we’re lvl 64 – can’t wait though!!
