Laiquendi of Ossiriand

Lotro Outfit

In the lands of Beleriand, in the age before the rising sun, the Grey elves welcomed into their lands the elves under Lord Denethor. Elves which they renamed the Laiquendi. Given the lands of Ossiriand, they were second only to the shepherds of the trees, the Ents, as protectors of the forest. They would remain under cover of the trees where they could ambush their foes with stealth and arrows.

They were named Laiquendi, which means green elves, because of their garments which were green to hide them from their foes and for their love and knowledge of all that was green and grew.

I have always had a fascination for the mysterious Laiquendi. Little has been said about them and what has been mentioned has been shrouded in mystery. According to the lore, they have disappeared without a trace. Some say that there are still Laiquendi among the elves of the third age, yet they remain hidden in the forests. This is my take on what a third age Laiquendi might look like.

  1. Fantastic, I really like this — the outfit and the lore. I’ve been playing around with those three Westfold helms as well, but haven’t yet come up with anything that works as well as this.

  2. Nice background information. My Isilwren is an elf from the Grey Havens too. Since I could start making dyes I’ve always outfitted her in green. The Rivendell green seems to be my favorite because of the dark, rich colors. I like this outfit, but it is a tad garish for what my Isi generally wears. I can’t wait to experiment with the new ranger outfits from epic to see if I can some up with a good mix between her Elven background and that of her aid with the rangers. One outfit that I have come to love is the hunter’s Ost Dunhoth gear. It moves well when fighting and dyes beautifully in green.
